Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council Membership
I am delighted to obtain membership of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council in September 2018. Read on to see why checking any hypnotherapy practitioner is a member of a body like this is key to public safety.
The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) was set up by the government to protect the public. Protection of the public is their sole purpose.
All CNHC registrants have agreed to be bound by the highest standards of conduct. All of them are professionally trained and fully insured to practise.
CNHC registrants work in private practice, the NHS and a wide range of other health and care settings.
CNHC is the holder of an accredited register. This means CNHC has met the demanding standards of the government-appointed accrediting body, the Professional Standards Authority.
They register complementary health practitioners from 15 disciplines. All practitioners on the register have met UK-wide standards, and have registered voluntarily.
The government recommends that when people are looking for a health practitioner who is not regulated by law, they only consult a practitioner on an accredited register such as CNHC’s.
General Medical Council guidance to doctors confirms that they are able to refer patients to practitioners on accredited registers – this includes all CNHC registrants.
Complaints – If you have a complaint about a complementary health practitioner on the CNHC register you can ring us first to discuss it, or fill out the complaints form on the website.
Always look for the CNHC registered mark Your guarantee of standards.
